| History |
John was discovered drifting in an escape pod as a baby by the trading vessel SS Iona Abbey. The Iona Abbey is owned by David Cameron and is not only a trading vessel but a home to him and his family. David contacted the federation who in turn contacted the Brikar to tell them of the discovery. The Brikar said the vessel John had been travelling to a Brikar colony and was lost in unknown circumstances. They offered to pay David if he would transport the child back home. He agreed but only after dropping off his cargo.
The trip took over a year and on arrival David and his wife Gillian learned the child they called John would be placed in an orphanage as he had no living relatives. They petitioned to adopt John which was eventually accepted. They collected as much information about Brikar society as they could and left to get back to their usual shipping lanes.
John had a difficult time growing up in an earth normal gravity environment and as a result of this he is slightly smaller and his body mass in denser than the average Brikar. John worked in the family business but was always facinated by the tales of starfleet his father would tell. David had always wanted to join but did not pass the academy exams.
John has 4 brothers and 3 sisters all living on the Iona Abbey with their spouces. He has 8 nephews and 3 neices whom are all in the same age group as John. He deeply loves his family and doesn't see them as his adopted family. The decision to leave and join starfleet was a very difficult one but something he thought he should do. |
| Psychological
Profile |
Gets on well with everyone and tries to see the best in people. Despite learning all about his own people he has taken human ideals and traits to his heart.
Does posses a terrible temper if pushed too far, was given a copy of "Begginers guide to Vulcan meditation" by his mother to try and control his temper after a bar fight with some Nausicans where the bar was torn to peices and the Nausicans lucky to have survived.
Posses what his academy instructors called "nerves of steel". Due to their physical makeup Brikar are rarely frightened.
John has one phobia which he tries to keep hidden. John has hortaphobia, the fear of Horta's. John read about Horta's as a child but it was one of his older cousins, Kieran who used to torment him with stories of Horta's eating little Brikar children. The Horta is the only know sentient to the federation that could easily kill a Brikar.
Speaks with a strong Scottish accent.
Hates having to wear an anti-grav and loves being in zero g whenever possible. |

Extract from Starfleet manual: Interspecies relations section - Brikar
Brikars are a proud people and make excellent officers. In any situation you would be at a great advantage having a Brikar watching your back. However a few simple rules should be observed.
Warning:
Do not goad, ridicule or otherwise antagonise Brikars, this can result in severe injury.
Do not challenge Brikars to any physical game or contest, this will result in serious injury or death.
Avoid games of chance, DO NOT CHEAT as this may result in serious injury.
If you find yourself drinking with a Brikar, ensure you leave before intoxication occurs as you will be at risk of serious, if unintentional, injury. |
