Appearance |
While on duty, Horatio mostly looks like he's in a slightly bad mood (even when he's in a very good mood) and sometimes he can even look annoyed.
He looks strong and is strong. He was raised to be in security/tactical and was trained that way by his family. People tend to move out of his way whenever he has to pass through a crowd.
He has not inherited the typical Xenexian looks and he is happy about it. No violet eyes and no bronze skin, although he does seem to tan much easier than others in his family. |
| History |
Kennedy was born in 2356 on July 3rd in London, the city where his family has been living since the dawn of the 17th century.
He was raised with the tactical and war history of his family and he was considered gifted in the art of tactical warfare. His career in security/tactical of course came as no surprise.
His father was a strategical adviser to the head of Starfleet Intelligence. His mother was 1/2 Xenexian and a 'simple' teacher. His father got quite some heat from his family for marrying her and almost got thrown out of the family for it.
Horatio joined the academy when he was 17 and graduated 5 years later. It took him a bit longer because of troubles: he often got into fights and after they had enough of it, they put him back a year. Archie noticed his mistakes and has since learned to control his angers towards other people and channel it into focusing on the task at hand.

After the decommissioning of the USS Babylon in January 2393, Horatio was placed on Pandora station to await further assignments. He mostly functioned as a replacement for First and Second officers while they were on leave for short missions.
Halfway through 2394 a new opportunity arrived as he was permanently assigned to the USS Atlantis as First Officer.

Profile |
He believes that if he is too accessible to people, they would ask him for advice more often than they should. Ask him for a very simple thing that you should already know and he will chew you up and spit you out.
Kennedy is very strict in protocol and believes in zero tolerance. Some of his previous superior officers have commented that he should 'lighten up' from time to time, but Horatio's opinion is that he can 'lighten up' off duty.
Off duty he can be quite pleasant and fun. |

and Skills |
Kennedy is a real security and tactical man. He grew up in a family of tactical geniuses (as they considered themselves) and he was expected to become one as well.
His skills in science and medical are minimum. He'll know what to do to try and keep a wounded man alive longer, but that's it.
He can fly a shuttle/ship as good as any normal pilot/helmsman, but for the more difficult tasks he'd recommend asking a pilot.
Counseling is definitely not his forté. Kennedy would tell you to shut up and get on with it. |
