| Physical
Appearance |
J'n'ala, who usually goes simply by Jen, is a very lean, and fit individual. She also has a very muscular build.
Being an Orion, of course, her attractiveness is one of her most noticeable qualities, but only equaled by her stern, experienced gaze. |
| History |
J'n'ala was freed from slavery on an Orion trade-ship when she was 11 years old, by a very "rough around the edges" starfleet Lieutenant Commander named Lance Foster. Foster had known a great deal of pain in his life as he was well known for his bravery as a pilot in the Dominion war. But with his career on it's way down the tubes, Jen and Lance formed an immediate friendship, and the Young Orion girl was able to request asylum from the Orion Slave traders, in doing so, Lance Foster reluctantly became her legal Guardian. Though, even today, Lance Foster isn't quite sure who adopted whom.
After Lance left Starfleet to pursue something of a treasure hunt, Jen (having studied a a large deal of starship operations purely out of interest) Took her place as a member of Lances meager crew of paid mercenaries. After a few years of some successful, others not quite so successful treasure hunting adventures, J'n'ala finally applied to starfleet academy, with a little push out the door by Lance Foster.
During her freshman year at the Academy J'n'ala was either not easily accepted by her peers, or she was distrustful of those that would approach her. She soon overcame it, (after a few bloodied noses) however and found a group of friends among her.
After graduating, she was assigned to the USS Valkyrie, as assistant security and tactical chief, and promoted to Lieutenant Junior grade within a few months. J'n'ala suffered a major episode on Krios, however, when her Orion brain chemistry brought about her most primitive instincts and took over her rational thinking. She nearly left starfleet to marry a man she hardly knew, but a basic cure was developed by the Valkyrie medical team before long.
She was able to redeem herself, in a way, a few months later, however. During a combat mission against Rak'hari Inquisitors, her out-of-the-box strategy using local pirates and civillians as backup turned the tides of the battle for the USS Valkyrie, and she was promoted to full Lieutennant shortly after.
She was barely able to enjoy the promotion for long, however, when she was kidnapped and replaced with a biological duplicate named Rynalta. Ryn was a pleasure slave on a mercenary vessel, and switched places with Jen, taking her life on the Valkyrie, leaving Jen aboard the pirate ship to serve it's crew. Jen didn't take kindly to her new assignment, and sabotaged the vessel, bringing it down to the war torn world of Ospiria. Jen eventually became involved in the events of Opspira (the war became known as the Ospirian Second Revolution) as a freedom fighter, and helped the planet win it's war, and gain the attention of starfleet command, giving her the chance to return home and face her doppleganger in person.
The confrontation that followed was more of a short-lived bickering session, as they were sisters, afterall. Jen decided to leave the matter in the hands of starfleet. Since her ordeal on Osperia, she has tried to make the best of her experiences there, using them to become a stronger person.
Jen's world was turned upside down, however, when she became intimately involved with an Orion/Betazoid mercenary named Krystol. Jen was on an undercover mission at the time, when the other woman became one of the few to break through Jen's tough exterior. Their deep connection changed them both for the better, but Krystol was tragically killed before they could finish the mission.
Shortly after, Jen finally met the bulk of her true Orion family: a dozen clones, each with their own backgrounds and personalities. Ryn was only the black sheep of the family, while the many of Jen's other sisters are leading legal and productive lives.
On a later mission, the loss of two more crew under her command is causing a difficult time for Jen. Only by finding a loved one among a long time friend is Jen able to cope. After the mission, Jen was promoted to first officer of the Valkyrie. |
| Psychological
Profile |
Having spent time rubbing elbows with some of the galaxies most wanted, J'n'ala considers herself something of a guru of the underworld among other officers. She has achieved far more than she ever expected to in starfleet. Her time on Osperia infused her with a rigid sense of discipline. She put her experiences as a soldier to use, shaping the security team on the Valkyrie into a more disciplined fighting force.
J'n'ala, while bred by the Orions for a life of exotic slavery, she has not only breached what would seem like limitations for what we would call an Orion Animal Woman, she has completely exceeded any and all expectations others have had of her.
Jen is often all bubbles and giggles off duty, but she also has an iron helm of a game face when the going gets tough, and she's very professional about her work.
Jen's inhibitions about advances of sexual interest toward her have been more and more swept under the rug, lately. Her reunion with her Orion family, combined with her powerful love affair with the mercenary Krystol, has left her far more open. However, with the knowledge of her unnatural genetic background also came the knowledge that she and her sisters were not engineered to love, but only to develop strong infatuations for the purposes of inter-species sex-trade.
Her recent relationship with Alex Duster, the ships new security chief, is making her realize her potential as a woman, and not a sex object.
Jens source of strength has always come from a strong belief in herself, but lately, Jen has realized the power of the faith of her loved ones in her.

| Notes |
Jen is not so secretly ashamed of her people. Her pride is in herself for what she is, and tends to look down upon her own race. She blames them for the low expectations and patronizing attitudes she often has had to endure. The very tittle "Animal Woman" disgusts her.
Jen has an aquatic pet called a Ku-kuai, a tentacled mollusk about the size of a rugby ball. a Ku-kuai is an empathic creature that alters the hue of it's tentacles based on the emotions of the people around it, like a mood mollusk of sorts. Jens pets name is Mr. Barnacles. |
