| History |
The eldest son of a big family, Luke shouldered a lot of responsibility early on. Along with his two older sisters, he helped his mother look after the family after his father took off when he was young. Though his father returned before he left for the Academy, Luke's relationship with him is extremely strained.
After being assigned to the USS Calhoun out of the Academy, Luke worked his way up the ranks. He was named the the chief helms officer after his predecessor left. He was then appointed 2O of the Calhoun by Captain Su. After Commander Summers was appointed the new Captain of the Calhoun she named Luke the ship's new First Officer.
Luke and his wife, Doctor Alexia Leal, have a young daughter together named Samatha Lydia Callahan, born September 25th, 2394.

Profile |
Luke enjoys keeping things light and fun while on duty, and he likes to run the helm department with this philosophy in mind. He is also known to make many jokes but does know when a more serious tone is needed.
He has been described in the past as a workaholic and he frequently continues working well past the end of his shift. Since the birth of his daughter he has tried hard to cut back on the number of extra hours he works.

| Aside from piloting the Calhoun and racing various shuttle craft and speedsters, Luke also has a knack for engineering. Whenever the Calhoun has had to endure extensive repairs, Luke has always been willing to get his hands dirty and jump right in to assist engineering get his girl flying again. |

Interests |
Luke loves to race shuttles and consequently spends a lot of his free time tinkering with shuttle engine parts, trying to make them faster and more maneuverable. Thus far he has a lot of success, and his next project is to create his own speedster from scratch.
Aside from flying Luke enjoys working out at the gym, frequenting the holodeck with Alexia, and spending time with his family which, in addition to Alexia and Samantha, includes his brother Jack - also stationed on the Calhoun - his sister-in-law Sheryl, and his nephew Michael. |
