A couple of weeks ago there was a cartoon in the newspaper that depicted Jan Peter Balkenende, the dutch prime minister, and leader of the CDA (a Christian-democratic political party), and André Rouvoet (of the ChristenUnie, a small Christian-social party) are Dr. Evil and Mini-Me.

That, combined with the fact that I was bored today, and in the chat some people were talking about Pokémon, which led to a comment that using those creatures to battle each other is a form of slavery, and that led to a comment about the Dutch East India Company. Due to some comment by Balkenende about the East India Company a while ago, this led to the creation of the above image

And an explanation about boring political stuff...

After the elections in November, CDA is still the biggest party (41 seats). Second-biggest is PvdA (dutch Labour party; 33 seats), and the biggest winner was the Socialist Party (from 9 to 25 seats). CDA and PvdA together don't have a majority, so they need a third party to form a coalition, and the differences between CDA and SP were too big to form a stable coalition, so they needed another party, which most likely is going to be CU (6 seats).
