(|Badlands|)
The Badlands is a stretch along the Cardassian border that ships try to avoid. There are a lot of plasma storms in the area that can destroy ships. There is an M-class asteroid in the badlands. (DS9: The Maquis, part I)

(|Barrens, The|)
Region of space where there are no star systems. It spans 100 light years. The Barrens is a subspace node. The Barrens are called so because there is nothing there. Emory Erickson used this area to test his sub-quantum teleportation. (ENT: Daedalus)

(|Black Cluster|)
An astrological formation created 9 billion years ago when hundreds of proto-stars collapsed in close proximity to each other. The resulting formation is fraught with violent unpredictable gravitational wavefronts. The phenomena, which can absorb energy, is extremely dangerous to spacecraft systems.
 
(|Borderland, The|)
The area where Dr. Soong's Augments attacked a Klingon ship. It is a volatile area between the Klingon Empire and the Orion Syndicate. It attracts the most dangerous elements from both. (ENT: Borderland)

Area of space also known as Klach D'Kel Brakt. The region is flooded with radiation from supernova remnants. There are signs of at least two habitable planets inside the briar patch. The Klingons had not mapped it as of 2154. (ENT: The Augments)

(|Delphic Expanse, The|)
Region where spheres were transforming normal space into a trans-dimensional realm. The Enterprise NX-01 destroyed the spheres in 2154. Without the spheres, the Expanse disappeared. (ENT: Zero Hour)Triannons call the Expanse the 'Chosen Realm'. (ENT: Chosen Realm)

According to Harrad-Sar, a planet in the Gorn Hegemony brewed the best Meridor in the Five Systems. It is unknown which systems are included in this region. (ENT: Bound)

(|Neutral Zone|)
Chart of the Neutral Zone in the mid-22nd century.The Neutral Zone is a border region established by treaty after the Earth-Romulan Conflict that occurred in the mid-22nd century. Entry into the neutral zone by either side constitutes an act of war. There are a number of Earth Outposts established along the Neutral Zone sector Z-6 to monitor the Zone. No vessel broke the treaty until Stardate 1709, when a Romulan bird of prey crossed into Federation space and destroyed Earth Outposts 2, 3, 4 and 8. The bird of prey was subsequently destroyed by the U.S.S. Enterprise. (TOS: Balance of Terror)
