These are the abbreviations used a lot outside posts. Most of them, like NPC, PC and SPC are explained in more detail in the Game Rules.
AcadCM - Academy Commandant
BD - Below Decks (sometimes used in the subject of a post to indicate the character is a NPC)
GM - Game Master
NPC - Non-Playing Character
NRPG - Non Role Playing Game
PB(E)M - Play By EMail
PC - Player or Primary Character
RPG - Role Playing Game
SPC - Special or Secondary Playing Character

CEO and ACEO - (Assistant) Chief Engineering Officer
CMO and ACMO - (Assistant) Chief Medical Officer
CO - Commanding Officer
COUNS and ACOUNS - (Assistant) Chief Counsellor
CSO and ACSO - (Assistant) Chief Science Officer
FO - First Officer
HN - Head Nurse
OPS and AOPS - (Assistant) Chief of Operations
STC and ASTC - (Assistant) Security and Tactical Chief
TC - Transporter Chief
