VisorMedical device that allows the wearer to see much of the EM spectrum ranging from simple heat and infrared through radio waves, among others. It allows blind individuals some visual ability. The Visor can examine things microscopically, thermally, electro magnetically. Geordi LaForge wore a visor. He always experienced pain when using the visor. Doctors told him he feels pain because he uses his natural sensors in different ways. Painkillers would effect how the visor works. Dr. Crusher suggested exploratory surgery to desensitize the brain areas troubling him, but that would also affect the way the visor worked. Geordi declined both solutions.
