The landing party to Beta III is subjected to a hypersonic.A hypersonic is a weapon that uses sound waves. It can render a person unconscious, and if strong enough, it can kill. When waking from being stunned, you have a headache. Landru, on the planet Beta III, used a hypersonic to subdue the landing party from the U.S.S. Enterprise. (TOS: Return of the Archons)
