Pon Farr is the Vulcan time of Mating. Symptoms include emotional, hostile, sometimes violent behavior, and loss of appetite. During Pon Farr, there is a growing imbalance of body functions. As if in Humans, huge amounts of adrenaline were constantly being pumped into the bloodstream. If it is not relieved, the physical and emotional pressures will simply kill a Vulcan male. No outworlder may know of Pon Farr except those few who become involved. Even Vulcans don't speak of it among themselves. It is a deeply personal thing. During Pon Farr, their logic is ripped from them. It is a kind of insanity. It is shielded with ritual and custom shrouded in antiquity. Plak-tow is the last stage of Pon Farr.
